During the last days of the Russian empire and the ruling of the Czars, a photographer by the name of Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii was commissioned to travel across the country and photograph the Russian empire. The photos were shot three times with a Red, a Green, and a Blue filter so that they could be combined into color photographs. The resulting works are outstanding both for their subject matter, which ranges from architecture to people to machinery, and for their color. Snap visuals of the entire collection and meet the Russia you never knew.
