A well flown type foundry

From revivals of 19th century hot metal type, to pixel fonts and fonts based on calligraphy, Aerotype is a well-rounded type foundry with a nice collection of type. It really is, just say it out loud, it's quite fun to say. Try extending the first syllable and then firing out the other two. Suuuuuudtipos. What's even more fun is the fantastic typefaces that these folks produce. From the ever popular Compendium to their freshly updated version of Candy Script 'Sugar Pie', these guys have got it made. A font foundry whose principal designers and founders include Ale (Alejandro) Paul, Sudtipos is based out of Buenos Aires, Argentina. And their work is great, It speaks for itself, so mosey on over and check it out.

Multi-lingual Typefaces

Anyone who is familiar with typeface creation will tell you that creating one from scratch is no easy task, with all of the letters and characters in the english alphabet, it's no small task. No imagine if you had to create one in multiple languages while maintaining the highest level of consistency possible? That's exactly what David Brezina does. And he does it well. Head on over to his website to check out a host of great information regarding multi-lingual typefaces and his own typefaces including Skolar and Codan.

Happy Monday to all of you folks out there, I hope you got plenty of Thanksgiving goodness over the holiday. To celebrate Monday YouWorkForThem has released a charming little typeface that has plenty of possibilities. A sans-serif that combines beginning caps and ending lowercase swashes makes for some pretty interesting stuff. You wouldn't expect to find a type foundry in Minneapolis, at least it's probably not the first place that you would have thought of if asked, but that is where Eric Olson has decided to make his nest and he probably won't be going anywhere for quite some time. The Process Type Foundry caters to all type of customers, from those seeking commercially available typefaces to folks like the Walker Art Center who need custom designed type to fit their brand identity. Aren’t all fonts Handmade?

Well not really quite like these ones are. Handmade Font is doing some pretty cool and experiment kinds of type and making them all available for purchase in their shop. The fonts aren't exactly easily editable and the character count in each one is pretty limited. But you'll have to admit that you don't really have anything like them in your FontBook already.
